Pomona City Code prohibits the open storage of junk, abandoned, or inoperable vehicles on private and public property. Vehicles left on public streets for extended periods are subject to citation and towing.
Under Pomona City Code, the storage of abandoned, wrecked, dismantled, or inoperable vehicles on private or public property is prohibited. Vehicles with missing parts, flat tires, or expired registration may not be stored in visible areas. Motor homes and RVs require special permits for front driveway parking. Vehicles parked on unpaved surfaces (gravel, dirt, grass) are also in violation. The Pomona Police Department Parking Enforcement Unit enforces abandoned vehicle ordinances on public streets, while Code Compliance handles private property violations.
Abandoned vehicles on public streets receive citations and may be towed after 72 hours. Private property violations result in code enforcement notices with deadlines to remove or screen the vehicle. Non-compliance may lead to administrative citations and abatement costs.
