Miami-Dade County Code Section 30-388.15 treats vehicles stored on public streets for over 24 hours or vehicles posing safety threats as subject to towing. The Miami-Dade Police Department enforces abandoned vehicle removal.
Miami-Dade County considers vehicles stored on public streets for more than 24 hours in violation of Section 30-388.15. Vehicles that the Director of the Miami-Dade Police Department deems a serious threat to public health, safety, or welfare must be removed within 24 hours or face towing. Inoperable vehicles on public rights-of-way are subject to immediate towing. On private property, junk vehicles visible from the street violate Chapter 19 property maintenance standards. Vehicle owners are responsible for all fines, towing fees, storage fees, and administrative costs. Report abandoned vehicles through 311.
First offense: $100. Repeat: $500 per vehicle. Towing and storage fees are the owner's responsibility. Property liens may result from unpaid fines.
