Full Breakdown

City code makes it unlawful for any property owner or occupier to allow a junked vehicle to be kept on real property, or to remain on public property, where it is visible from a public place or public right-of-way. A junked vehicle covers unregistered, unplated, or hazard-posing vehicles, plus certain trailers and dismantled golf carts/NEVs left more than 15 days. The Director of Development Services can order removal, and unremedied violations after notice can draw a civil penalty up to $1,000 per day under the city's administrative abatement process.

Violations & Fines

Up to $1,000 per day civil penalty after notice, plus misdemeanor charge under Sec. 1-8; vehicle removal/towing under Ch. 683 Texas Transportation Code.
