Victoria, TX Fence Regulations: Fence Permit Requirements (2026)

Under UDO Section 21-210, Victoria allows fences and walls in any required yard on residential lots, but caps opaque fences and walls in front of the front building line at three feet; elsewhere in a residential yard the limit is eight feet, and no fence may create a traffic hazard. On corner lots, opaque fences and walls can't encroach into the front or exterior side building line beyond that three-foot cap. Fences crossing the front setback line need a six-foot transition section between the eight-foot and three-foot portions. Plywood, metal panels, mesh, and corrugated steel fencing are banned outright, and reverse-frontage lots need a five-foot gate.
