Anaheim, CA Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

Section 14.32.205 targets four vehicle categories on residential streets: truck tractors with or without an attached trailer, any unattached trailer, any commercial vehicle rated ten thousand pounds gross vehicle weight or more, and any bus as defined by California Vehicle Code Section 233, though vanpool vehicles defined under Vehicle Code Section 668 are exempt from the bus category. The ban applies only to a vehicle left standing on a public street in a district the Vehicle Code classifies as residential; it does not reach a vehicle parked on private property.

Three exceptions let a covered vehicle stay briefly: mechanical breakdown, active loading or unloading of property, and performing a service to or on a property located in the same block where the vehicle is parked, such as a delivery truck or a contractor's rig working a job site. The City Traffic Engineer posts and maintains the signs marking which residential streets carry the restriction, and Section 14.32.200 adds a related but separate curfew, banning any truck or trailer combination rated ten thousand pounds or more from parking on any Anaheim street between 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., which applies more broadly than just residential districts.

A companion section, 14.32.206, separately restricts any oversized vehicle, defined as anything over twenty-two feet long or seven feet wide or tall, including campers, motorhomes, and fifth-wheel trailers, from parking on any public street citywide unless the vehicle qualifies for one of that section's own emergency, government, or loading exemptions.
