The City of Garden Grove restricts the parking of oversized commercial vehicles on public streets in residential zones under Title 11 of the Municipal Code. Garden Grove is a densely developed suburban city in Orange County with approximately 173,000 residents, and its residential neighborhoods feature relatively narrow streets that cannot safely accommodate large commercial vehicles without creating traffic flow problems, sight-line obstructions, and emergency access concerns.

Commercial vehicles exceeding 10,000 pounds GVWR or 25 feet in length — including box trucks, flatbed trucks, tractor-trailers, semi-cabs, and heavy construction equipment — are prohibited from parking on residential streets between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
