Commercial vehicles with GVWR over 10,000 lbs are prohibited from parking on residential county streets where properly posted. Active loading and unloading is excepted. Contact San Joaquin County Public Works for road-specific rules.
SJC Ordinance Code Β§71.40 restricts commercial vehicles (GVWR 10,000 lbs+) from parking on public streets or highways abutting residential zones when the area is properly posted with such restrictions. Exceptions include active pickups/deliveries, construction deliveries with a valid building permit, and temporary loading operations. In agricultural zones, heavy farm equipment parking rules differ. Rural county roads may not have posted restrictions, making commercial vehicle parking less regulated in those areas. Contact Public Works at (209) 468-3090 for specific road classification and posted restriction information.
