Henry County, GA Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

Sec. 3-16-55 prohibits parking limousines, flatbed trucks, dump trucks, septic pump trucks, tow trucks, bucket trucks, transport wreckers, vehicle carriers, cab-on-chassis trucks, tractor trailers, truck tractors without a trailer, buses, semi-trailers, vehicles over 26,000 pounds gross vehicle weight, trailers over 10,000 pounds gross weight, tanker vehicles, hazardous-materials carriers, and any vehicle requiring a Commercial Driver's License, in all residential subdivisions and all residential zoning districts, except residential-agricultural zoned properties of two or more acres. Even on qualifying residential-agricultural lots, the vehicle must be parked or stored in a side or rear yard, or in a carport or enclosed building, and any side- or rear-yard storage must be fully concealed with a solid fence, provided buffer requirements are met and public rights-of-way, sidewalks, or sight distance are not obstructed.

A further restriction bars any commercial vehicle parking on residential-agricultural land that carries a non-residential use, including public facilities, institutional care facilities, animal boarding, cemeteries, special event facilities, religious facilities, and land with electrical substations or wireless communication facilities. The article, added by Ord. No. 22-01 on March 1, 2022, separately allows agricultural equipment like tractors and harvesters on residential-agricultural land of three or more acres outside a subdivision under Sec. 3-16-56, subject to the same yard-and-fence screening.
