Under Article 12.07 of Katy's Code of Ordinances, no person may park or leave standing any commercial vehicle exceeding 10,000 pounds overall gross weight on a city street, public right-of-way, or alley for more than one hour, whether attended or unattended. Heavy commercial vehicles must use designated truck routes such as Interstate 10, US 90, Pin Oak Road, FM 1463, Cane Island Parkway, Pederson Road, and Igloo Road, and may only enter other streets at the intersection nearest to a delivery destination.
Violations are misdemeanors punishable by fines up to $200; vehicles may also be towed at the owner's expense if they remain past the time limit.
