Newton Revised Ordinances Chapter 19 restricts commercial vehicle parking on public ways and residential properties. Commercial vehicles rated over 1 ton (including box trucks, dump trucks, landscaping trailers, and tractor cabs) cannot be parked overnight on any Newton street between 1 AM and 6 AM. On residential lots, no more than one commercial vehicle owned by the resident may be parked, and it must fit within standard parking space dimensions and not exceed 10,000 pounds GVWR. Vehicles with visible commercial signage are permitted in residential driveways only if owned by a resident. Trucks over 2.5 tons are prohibited on designated residential streets except for active deliveries.
