Brevard County, FL Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

County code defines commercial vehicles and heavy equipment broadly: semi-trailers, dump trucks, tow trucks, construction equipment, and pickups/vans used commercially. These may not be parked, stored, or located in any zoning classification or on the abutting right-of-way in unincorporated Brevard unless the section specifically allows it. Allowed spots are limited: developed BU-2, GML, IU, IU-1, PBP and PIP zoned property outright; BU-1-A, BU-1 and IN(H) property only if the vehicle sits behind the main structure and, where it abuts residential zoning, is fully screened by a six-foot opaque barrier. Ordinary commercial pickups, vans and trailers may sit on any developed residential lot within the property lines. Vehicles may never block a street or sidewalk or create a traffic sight obstruction.
