Under Sec. 82-1, the county manager or a designee can study a street and post signs prohibiting commercial vehicles from it, or barring through traffic from side residential streets, whenever engineering or traffic data supports the restriction. Sec. 82-2 backs this with a weight-limit tool: once a sign caps gross vehicle weight on a street or bridge, no commercial vehicle over that limit may drive on it, except to deliver or pick up materials at the nearest cross street to its destination. There is no blanket residential ban, the restriction only applies where signs are actually posted. This governs unincorporated county roads only; Albuquerque enforces its own truck-route rules under its Integrated Development Ordinance.
