Full Breakdown

TMC § 11.05.230 sets a flat seven-calendar-day cap on how long a vehicle, boat trailer, recreation trailer, camper, or other licensed or unlicensed vehicle or device may sit on any public street or alley right-of-way in Tacoma. The rule applies citywide, not just in residential zones, and covers oversized recreational equipment as well as ordinary cars. Moving the vehicle a short distance does not reset the clock. TMC § 11.05.190 separately bars repositioning a vehicle within the same block to dodge a time limit. Violating the seven-day cap carries a penalty of not less than $35.00.

Violations & Fines

Leaving a boat trailer, RV, camper, or any vehicle on a Tacoma street or alley longer than seven calendar days is a $35 minimum penalty under TMC § 11.05.230.
