Unified Land Development Code Supplement No. 32 (Printed 10/25)
Full Breakdown
Palm Beach County's Unified Land Development Code requires every Electric Vehicle Charging Parking Space (EVCPS) in unincorporated areas to be painted green, or marked with green painted lines or curbs, so drivers can identify charging spots at a glance. The rule applies only outside the county's 39 incorporated municipalities. West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Jupiter and the Town of Palm Beach each set their own parking codes. EVCPS installation is permitted by right, can make up to half of a site's required parking, and each space must also carry a posted sign with safety and operator contact information.
Violations & Fines
Building an EVCPS without the required green paint or striping, or skipping the posted safety/contact sign, is a zoning violation the county can cite through code enforcement, with compliance ordered through the standard permitting and inspection process.
