Bishop, CA Parking Rules: Driveway Rules (2026)

Two rules shape driveway use in Bishop. On the street side, BMC 10.28.050(J) prohibits stopping, standing, or parking in front of any public or private driveway. On the property side, BMC 17.76.060(D) prohibits storing or parking any motor vehicle in a residential or commercial zone other than in an entirely enclosed space unless the vehicle is capable of movement under its own power: aimed at inoperable-vehicle storage. Off-street parking facilities must have vehicular access from a street or alley (BMC 17.76.030). Access-point widths and curb-return clearances are set for lots reviewed by planning (BMC 17.76.070).
