Under MMC Section 8.48.020(I), fully operative vehicles may be parked on a paved driveway or on an additional paved area adjacent to the driveway. Parking on grass, dirt, or other unpaved surfaces in front or side yards is prohibited. Inoperative vehicles may not be stored in front yards, unscreened side yards, or any yard area visible from the street. Driveway construction must comply with Moorpark's engineering standards including minimum width and materials requirements. New driveway approaches require an encroachment permit from the Public Works Department. The city's Code Compliance Division actively enforces front yard parking violations.
