Sec. 9-7.1 establishes minimum construction standards for off-street parking areas. Residential (one- and two-family) parking requires 3.5 inches of 2500 PSI concrete reinforced with No. 6 wire mesh with expansion joints every 12.5 feet, or 1.5 inches of hot mix asphalt on a 6-inch compacted limestone base, both on subbase compacted to 95% density. The permit fee for residential off-street parking is $20. A scaled geometric design drawing must be submitted to the building official showing driveway locations, pavement elevations, easements, and drainage plans. No driveway may be constructed as a continuation of a dead-end street per Sec. 9-7.1(l). All parking must be set back 5 feet from property lines per Sec. 9-7.1(j).
