Pasadena regulates street parking under Chapter 36 (Traffic), Article VII (Stopping, Standing, and Parking). Vehicles must not obstruct traffic, block fire hydrants, or park in designated no-parking zones. Tire squeal from vehicles is prohibited under Sec. 36-74.
Chapter 36, Article VII of the Pasadena Code governs stopping, standing, and parking on public streets. Standard traffic law applies: no parking within 15 feet of fire hydrants, at intersections, on sidewalks, or in designated no-parking zones. Mobile home parks with 24-foot private streets prohibit on-street parking; streets 28 feet or wider allow parking on one side per the off-street parking ordinance. The city code cross-references tire squeal as a traffic offense under Sec. 36-74. Pasadena does not have a citywide residential permit parking program. On-street parking is generally allowed on public streets unless otherwise posted.
