Paradise, NV Parking Rules: EV Charging (2026)

Clark County Code allows residential electric vehicle (EV) charging stations under Title 22 (Building Code) and the adopted National Electrical Code (NEC). Homeowners installing a Level 2 charger (240-volt) must obtain an electrical permit through Clark County Development Services, which covers load calculations, panel capacity, and GFCI requirements per NEC Article 625. Level 1 chargers (standard 120-volt outlets) typically do not require a new permit if existing circuits are used. New dedicated circuits for EV charging must be permitted. Commercial and multifamily EV charging installations require a full building permit with Public Works review, including site plans, ADA accessibility, and signage per Title 30 Unified Development Code parking requirements. Nevada Assembly Bill 184 (2017) and related state policy encourage EV adoption. NV Energy, the utility serving Clark County, offers optional time-of-use residential rates and, at times, rebates for Level 2 charger installation. The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) operates public charging infrastructure. Clark County does not generally impose separate zoning restrictions on private residential EV charging in attached garages or carports.
