Twin Falls County, ID Parking Rules: Loading Zones (2026)

Chapter 11 of Title 8 covers off-street parking and loading together, and section 8-11-1 states the chapter's intent is to keep vehicles off public streets and highways to improve safety, reduce congestion and keep traffic circulating. Section 8-11-3 sets the specific loading standard: off-street loading and unloading space must be provided on the same lot for every building used for manufacturing, storage, warehousing, goods display, department store, grocery, hotel, hospital, mortuary, laundry, dry-cleaning or other use similarly involving the receipt or distribution of vehicle or material or merchandise.

Unless the property already provides adequate loading capacity another way, the code requires a minimum ten foot by twenty-five foot loading space with at least fourteen feet of height clearance, and it scales with building size: one such space is required for every twenty thousand square feet of floor space in the building, or any fraction of that amount. The companion parking section, 8-11-2, separately sets minimum customer and employee parking counts by use, for example two spaces for each dwelling unit or one space per four restaurant seats, and its subsection B allows two or more buildings to pool required spaces onto one adjacent lot if the combined total still meets what each building would need separately. Uses not listed in either table have their off-street parking and loading needs set individually by the Zoning Commission under its delegated authority.
