Union County, NJ Parking Rules: Loading Zones (2026)

Chapter 138, Article VI creates the county's loading zone authority in a single operative sentence: the locations described in Schedule XIV, codified at § 138-44, are hereby designated as loading zones, § 138-16. Schedule XIV then names the actual sites; the code identifies Loading Zone C at Warinanco Park, shown on a map dated July 17, 1980, as in effect between 5:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., § 138-44. Because the designation is site-specific rather than county-wide, a location is a legal loading zone under this chapter only if it appears in Schedule XIV; the general prohibited-parking rules of §§ 138-3 through 138-6 otherwise continue to apply to county roads and lots outside those designated hours and locations. As with the rest of Chapter 138, the article's rules take effect only once the required signs are posted, § 138-26, and enforcement runs through the same chapter-wide penalty and vehicle-removal provisions that apply to the rest of the county's traffic code.
