Lynwood prohibits parking oversized vehicles over 22 feet long, 6 feet high, or 7 feet wide on public streets, allowing only brief loading or a limited paid permit near the owner's home.
Lynwood Municipal Code 7-17(i) defines an oversize vehicle as any house car, camper, RV, tow truck, boat or trailer that is 22 feet or more long, 6 feet or more high, or 7 feet or more wide, excluding mirrors. No person may leave an oversize or non-motorized vehicle on any public street or alley, except in residential districts by the owner's residence up to 24 hours for loading, or 72 hours total with a paid permit. Any vehicle 6 feet or more in height may not park within 100 feet of an intersection. Permits cost $50, last up to three consecutive weekdays (72 hours), and no more than three may be issued to one vehicle in any 90-day period.
Parking an oversize vehicle on the street beyond the allowed window, without a permit, or within 100 feet of an intersection results in a citation and possible tow. The city Oversize Vehicle fine is $229.
