Lynwood marks yellow commercial and white passenger loading zones, limiting material loading to 20 minutes and passenger loading to 3 minutes between 7 A.M. and 6 P.M.
Under Lynwood Municipal Code 7-20.4 through 7-20.6, the city traffic engineer marks and enforces loading zones. Yellow curbs mean no stopping, standing or parking between 7:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. (except Sundays and holidays) for any purpose other than loading, with material loading limited to 20 minutes and passenger loading to 3 minutes. White curbs allow only 3-minute passenger loading or mail deposit. Commercial-vehicle material loading is capped at 20 minutes. Yellow loading zones are stenciled 'LOADING ONLY' and white passenger zones 'PASSENGER LOADING ONLY.' No more than half of any block's curb may be reserved for loading. Zoning code 25-65-10 determines off-street loading-space needs case by case, requiring turning radii so trucks need not back into the street.
Parking in a loading zone for non-loading purposes, or exceeding the 20-minute material or 3-minute passenger limits, results in a citation. Blocking a designated zone can also lead to a tow.
