New Orleans has no size-specific street-parking section, but oversized vehicles are barred from neutral grounds, sidewalks and curbs (Sec. 154-1031) and may not obstruct traffic or exceed the 24-hour street limit. Keep large vehicles on private property.
Orleans Parish does not set a distinct oversized-vehicle parking rule in Ch. 154. Large trucks, buses, trailers and campers are enforced under the general provisions: Sec. 154-1031/1032 prohibit parking or driving on a neutral ground, sidewalk, curb or corner; Sec. 154-878 bars obstructing traffic by leaving less than 10 feet clear; and Sec. 154-881 limits any street parking to 24 hours. Parking on the neutral ground draws a $75 fine and a tow. Where an oversized vehicle may be stored on a lot is governed by the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance rather than the traffic code.
Neutral-ground parking is $75 and towable (Sec. 154-1031); obstructing traffic is about $20; over-24-hour parking is ticketed. All are towable to the City impound lot.
