New Orleans has no dedicated code section banning commercial trucks from residential streets, so the general 24-hour limit, loading-zone rules and zoning apply. Commercial vehicles must obey Sec. 154-881 and all Sec. 154-923 clearances like any other vehicle.
Orleans Parish does not maintain a standalone residential commercial-vehicle parking prohibition in Ch. 154. Trucks, vans and commercial vehicles are subject to the same rules as passenger cars: no parking over 24 hours (Sec. 154-881), no blocking sidewalks, hydrants, driveways or corners (Sec. 154-923), and use of designated loading zones only for active loading/unloading. Where a commercial vehicle is stored or operated is instead governed by the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance (CZO) for the district. Oversized commercial rigs blocking traffic or the right-of-way are enforced under the general obstruction and neutral-ground rules.
Blocking a sidewalk, hydrant or corner is about $40 and towable; overstaying a loading zone or the 24-hour limit is ticketed. Zoning violations are handled by Safety & Permits.
