Full Breakdown

City Code § 37-226 lets council carve out "special residential parking areas" block by block; a resident who lives inside one applies to the department of finance for a residential parking sticker, which is free and exempts that vehicle from the district's one- or two-hour time limit (and, in some meter areas, from feeding the meter). Each residence can hold up to four stickers, capped at two per person. Neighborhoods like the Trinity Vicinity (Area T) and Hilltop Vicinity (Area N) go further, closing overnight parking entirely to non-residents without a guest permit.

Violations & Fines

Displaying an invalid or expired sticker: $40 first offense, $110 each subsequent offense. In Trinity Vicinity (Area T) and Hilltop Vicinity (Area N), a non-resident parked without a permit during restricted overnight hours pays double the standard fine.
