Summary
Thurston County lets residents store operable RVs, boats and trailers on their property as long as the vehicles don't block right-of-way or sightlines and aren't used as living quarters.
Operable motor vehicles, boats, trailers, recreational vehicles and the like may be stored on the premises provided that they do not obstruct the use of public right-of-way or interfere with traffic visibility, especially the visibility of and at intersections of streets. Vehicles so stored shall not be used as living quarters.

Full Breakdown
County zoning code Section 21.57.060(C)(2) covers RV, boat and trailer storage on residential lots countywide. Operable motor vehicles, boats, trailers and recreational vehicles may sit on the premises, but they cannot obstruct the public right-of-way or block traffic visibility, especially near street intersections, and nobody may live in a stored vehicle. Storage directly in or on the right-of-way is banned outright under 21.57.060(D). Inoperable vehicles fall under the separate junk-vehicle rule in 21.57.060(C)(1), which caps outdoor storage at 30 days unless screened.
Violations & Fines
Code enforcement can order a stored RV, boat or trailer relocated if it blocks the right-of-way, obscures intersection sightlines, or is being lived in; right-of-way storage is prohibited outright.
