City-specific rules exist: Dade City, Zephyrhills, and New Port Richey have their own rv & boat parking rules that differ from Pasco County's county-level regulations. If you live in one of those cities, check the city-specific page instead.

Full Breakdown

5 (Chapter 500, Supplemental Regulations), on residentially zoned property less than one acre RVs may be parked or stored only in a side yard or rear yard, not in front of the principal building line or in front yards/front driveways, not within five feet of a side or rear property line, and they must be screened from all abutting property by an opaque six-foot fence or vegetation at least 75 percent opaque and six feet high. Larger and agricultural lots (A-C, AC-1, A-R, AR-1, AR-5, AR-5MH, ER-2 and residential parcels of one acre or more) have more latitude but still cannot park RVs in the required front setback.

Campers and motor homes may be temporarily parked in the driveway for trip preparation, loading, unloading, and cleanup for up to 72 hours in any 7-day period, up to four times per calendar year. No RV may be parked or stored on the right-of-way, used for residential purposes, or connected to water, sewer, or electric lines (battery chargers excepted). A non-resident houseguest's RV may be parked up to 10 days, four times per year, with a displayed Guest RV Parking Permit.

Violations & Fines

RV/boat parking violations are code-compliance violations enforced by Pasco County Code Compliance under Chapter 500; the County's 2025 right-of-way amendment provides for warning notices followed by escalating fines (up to $500 per day) after the educational period.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I keep my boat or RV in my driveway in unincorporated Pasco County?
No, not for storage. On lots under one acre, LDC 530.5 requires RVs and boats to be in the side or rear yard, screened, and prohibits storage in front of the principal building line or in the front driveway. You may use the driveway only temporarily (up to 72 hours per 7-day period, four times a year) for loading, unloading, and cleanup.
Can I live in or sleep in my RV parked at my house?
No. LDC 530.5.C.4 makes it unlawful to use an RV parked on residential property for residential purposes, including sleeping, and connecting it to water, sewer, or electric creates a presumption of prohibited residential use. A non-resident houseguest may temporarily occupy a Guest RV up to 10 days, four times a year, with a permit.
