Ocoee regulates residential RV and boat parking through Chapter 168 (Vehicles and Traffic) and the Land Development Code Article V (Land Use and Density Regulations). Recreational vehicles, boats, and trailers may be parked on residential property only in side or rear yards, behind the front building line, and must not be used as a permanent residence. Parking on the public right-of-way is limited to short-term loading and unloading (typically 72 hours).
Ocoee Code Chapter 168 governs vehicle parking on residential lots, and the Land Development Code Article V sets the location standards. RVs, motorhomes, travel trailers, boats, and boat trailers may be stored on a residential lot only if they are owned by a resident of the property and parked on a paved or other approved surface in the side or rear yard, behind the front building setback line. RVs over 35 feet, commercial vehicles, and vehicles with commercial signage receive additional scrutiny. RVs cannot be occupied as a dwelling on residential property. On-street parking of RVs/boats is limited to brief loading/unloading periods, and overnight parking on the right-of-way is generally prohibited. Code enforcement is conducted by the Ocoee Code Enforcement Division, and many residential subdivisions have additional HOA covenants restricting visibility of RVs from the street.
Violations of Ocoee parking and zoning rules are subject to civil citations under Chapter 1 of the Code: typically $50-$100 for first offense, escalating to $500/day for repeat or continuing violations through the Code Enforcement Board. The board may also order removal of the vehicle from the front yard or right-of-way.
