Yavapai County allows RV storage on residential parcels but restricts living in an RV. Short visits are capped at 10 consecutive days on lots of at least 2 acres, up to 3 times per year with 30-day intervals.
Storage of an RV on a residential parcel is permitted as an accessory use, but long-term occupancy of a travel trailer, motor home, or recreational vehicle requires a Temporary Dwelling Permit, Use Permit, or Secondary Medical Dwelling Variance from Development Services. The RV must be self-contained and may not be hooked to permanent utilities while occupied. During construction of a primary dwelling, an RV may be occupied for up to 24 months from issuance of the building permit, provided the permit remains valid. Rentals of the RV are not allowed.
