Florida Statute 316.1945 controls street parking countywide in Pinellas County, while Sec. 122-35 prohibits parking in specified places and Sec. 122-32 sets fines for improper curb parking.
On Pinellas County streets, Florida Statute 316.1945 prohibits stopping, standing, or parking on sidewalks, in intersections, on crosswalks, within 30 feet of stop signs or traffic signals, within 20 feet of fire station driveways, and within 50 feet of railroad crossings. Pinellas County Code Sec. 122-35 mirrors and supplements these prohibitions for unincorporated streets. Sec. 122-32 sets a $25 fine for improper parking violations including occupying two spaces, parking on the wrong side, or exceeding the maximum distance from the curb. Roadway facility owners may add further posted restrictions under Sec. 138-3602 community design standards.
Tickets under F.S. 316.1945 are nonmoving traffic infractions; Pinellas County improper parking fines start at $25 and increase with late payment.
