Fayetteville street parking follows Code Chapter 72. Park headed with traffic within 18 inches of the curb, and never within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, on a sidewalk, in front of a driveway, or within 20 feet of a crosswalk. Downtown has two-hour zones.
Code Sec. 72.03 lists where you may never stop or park: on a sidewalk, in front of a public or private driveway, within an intersection or on a crosswalk, within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection, and within 20 feet of a fire-station driveway. Sec. 72.06 requires parking on the right-hand side headed with traffic, right wheels within 18 inches of the curb, per A.C.A. Sec. 27-51-1301. Downtown and near the square, the Parking Manager designates two-hour zones enforced 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. A vehicle parked continuously in one spot beyond 72 hours may be towed under Sec. 72.02.
Parking in a prohibited zone or overtime draws a municipal ticket. Blocking a hydrant, driveway, or crosswalk, or sitting more than 72 hours in one spot, allows towing and impoundment at the owner's expense under Sec. 72.02.
