Fayetteville bans parking motorhomes, RVs, fifth-wheel trailers, and campers on any city street from midnight to 6 a.m. On your own lot, boats and trailers in the front yard count toward the four-vehicle limit, and none may sit in the street right-of-way.
Two rules govern recreational vehicles. On the street, Code Sec. 72.15 prohibits parking a motorhome, recreational vehicle, fifth-wheel trailer, camper trailer, or any truck or trailer over one-ton capacity on a city street between midnight and 6:00 a.m., a restriction the City Council added in 2022 (Ord. 6589). On private single-family property, UDC Sec. 172.11 caps outdoor parking at four motor vehicles, and any non-motorized RV, trailer, or boat kept in the front yard counts toward that four. Off-street parking of a boat or trailer is prohibited within the street right-of-way, including the sidewalk and greenspace. Parking a registered, operable RV in your own driveway during the day remains allowed.
An overnight RV or trailer on a city street is ticketed and may be towed at the owner's expense under Sec. 72.02. Exceeding the front-yard vehicle limit or parking in the right-of-way is a code violation with escalating fines.
