Live Oak allows on-street parking on most residential streets subject to 24-hour movement rules, no-parking zones, and restrictions within 15 feet of fire hydrants or 30 feet of stop signs.
Live Oak regulates street parking through its Code of Ordinances traffic chapter and incorporates applicable provisions of the Texas Transportation Code. Vehicles parked on public streets must be moved at least every 24 hours under the citys continuous parking rule; otherwise they may be tagged and towed as abandoned under Texas Transportation Code Chapter 683. Standard state-law prohibitions apply: no parking within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, 20 feet of a crosswalk, 30 feet of a stop sign, or blocking driveways and mailboxes. Parking is prohibited on sidewalks and against the flow of traffic. Signed no-parking zones near schools, fire lanes, and the Live Oak Civic Center are enforced by Live Oak Police. Parking on unpaved front yards is separately prohibited under city zoning.
