San Antonio Code Chapter 19, Article VI, Division 2 (Β§19-194) regulates parking in residential areas. It is unlawful to park motor vehicles, watercraft, campers, or trailers in the front yard or side yard setback unless all wheels are on permanently maintained parking surfaces made of gravel (with barriers/curbing), concrete, brick, or asphalt. Parking on grass, dirt, or unpaved surfaces in front yards is prohibited. Vehicles must have current registration and inspection. The Police Department and Code Compliance Department share enforcement authority. Street parking must not obstruct traffic or fire hydrant access.
First violation: $100 minimum fine. Second: $200 minimum. Third+: $300 minimum. Maximum $2,000 for all violations.
