On county roads in unincorporated Tuolumne County, Ordinance Code Chapter 10.24 prohibits parking that obstructs traffic and lets the Board of Supervisors restrict parking by resolution where signs are posted. Curb-color rules (red, yellow, white, green, blue) carry the meanings set in Section 10.24.050. General parking violations carry a $35 penalty.
Street parking in the unincorporated county is governed by Ordinance Code Chapter 10.24. Section 10.24.010 prohibits parking any vehicle on the county road system or rights-of-way 'in a manner which will obstruct vehicular traffic.' Section 10.24.020 authorizes the Board of Supervisors to prohibit or restrict stopping, parking, or standing on any county street, road, highway, parking lot, or off-street facility by duly adopted resolution, but no such restriction is effective until signs or markings giving adequate notice 'have been conspicuously erected or placed.' Section 10.24.050 sets curb-color meanings on county roads: red means no stopping, standing, or parking at any time (except as the Vehicle Code permits and except a marked bus loading zone); yellow is a loading zone (loading/unloading limited to 20 minutes); white is a passenger or mail loading zone (20 minutes, 7 a.m.-6 p.m. except Sundays and holidays); green is time-limited parking; and blue is reserved for vehicles displaying a disabled placard or plate. Under Section 10.24.080, a violation of 'all other sections of chapter 10.24, and any other restriction' carries a $35 penalty, while a disabled-space violation (Vehicle Code 22507.8) is $250. Violations are processed as civil penalties under Vehicle Code Section 40200 et seq.
Parking that obstructs a county road or right-of-way violates Section 10.24.010. Parking against posted Board resolutions or curb-color restrictions (Section 10.24.050) is enforceable once signs are posted. General Chapter 10.24 violations carry a $35 penalty; a disabled-space violation is $250 (Section 10.24.080). Enforcement is by civil penalty under Vehicle Code Section 40200 et seq.
