Sacramento County Code §10.24.070 makes parking any vehicle on a Vineyard street or alley for more than 72 consecutive hours a violation. Vehicles can be tagged, then towed as abandoned under SCC §10.24 and California Vehicle Code §22651(k).
SCC §10.24.070(b) prohibits parking any vehicle on a highway, street, or alley in unincorporated Sacramento County for more than 72 consecutive hours. The 300-foot reset rule (§10.24.040) prevents moving a vehicle a few feet to reset the clock. After 72 hours, the Sacramento County Sheriff or county vehicle abatement team can mark the vehicle and re-check after 24 hours. If still parked, it's eligible for tow under Cal Veh Code §22651(k).
72-hour violation: $73 base fine plus tow at owner's expense (~$300-$500). Repeat abandoned-vehicle violations on the same property can trigger nuisance abatement proceedings under SCC Ch. 16.18.
