03 makes every "business establishment" defined in the chapter, including banks and credit unions, check-cashing businesses, coin dealers, firearm dealers, gas stations, hotels and motels, liquor retailers, mobile-phone dealers, money-transmission businesses, pawnbrokers, pharmacies and scrap metal dealers, install and maintain a compliant digital video system. 04 requires camera coverage capable of facial recognition at every register, checkout stand and entrance/exit, plus wide-angle coverage of parking lots and pedestrian approaches; gas stations must also cover fueling islands. 05, if a crime occurs or is suspected, the business must notify the Police Department immediately and give it access to the recorded media, and must retain continuous recordings for at least 30 days in a locked, access-restricted location, logging every request to view footage.
