Due to Southern California's warm coastal and inland climate, unincorporated Orange County communities such as Coto de Caza, Ladera Ranch, Trabuco Canyon, Midway City, and Rossmoor do not experience snowfall. Consequently, the County has no ordinance requiring snow removal or sidewalk clearing for ice or snow. General sidewalk maintenance is addressed through OCCO Title 3 property maintenance provisions, which require property owners to keep adjacent sidewalks and public areas free of hazards, debris, and overgrown vegetation. If a sidewalk becomes damaged, OC Public Works handles repair of sidewalks within County-maintained roads. Property owners are responsible for maintaining the parkway area between their property line and the curb.
No snow-related violations exist. General sidewalk obstruction or failure to maintain adjacent parkway areas may be addressed through standard code enforcement under OCCO Title 3, Division 13.
