Full Breakdown
A lot being empty does not excuse its owner from Forsyth County's solid-waste and nuisance rules. The code makes the owner or person in charge of any premises responsible for the collection and transportation of all solid waste accumulated there, and it prohibits letting waste pile up in a way that is unsightly or creates a health hazard. Vacant land is a frequent target for illegal dumping, which owners must prevent and clean up; dumped loads over ten pounds carry a $1,000 fine. After notice, the county may abate accumulated waste and place the cost against the property.
Violations & Fines
Written notice to clean up; unresolved accumulation is abated at the owner's cost. Illegal dumping over ten pounds on the lot carries a $1,000 fine per occurrence.
