Summary
Midwest City law makes weeds or trash left standing on any lot, tract or parcel, including the adjacent sidewalk, street or unpaved alley, a nuisance the owner must cut, remove or destroy.
It shall be unlawful for any owner and/or responsible party of any lot, tract or parcel of land to allow weeds or trash to grow or stand upon such premises, or along the side walk, street, unimproved portions of any city easement or unpaved alley adjacent to such premises. It shall be the duty of the owner and/or responsible party to cut, remove or destroy any and all such rank weeds and/or clean and remove trash on such premises.(b)Subsection (a) of this section shall not apply to undeveloped lots and unplatted parcels of land whose terrain hinders mowing of the entire tract so long as the owner mows a fire break in lieu of the entire lot or parcel and receives an exemption from the requirements of subsection (a) of this section, which must be renewed annually, from the city manager or his designee.
