Lakewood, NJ Public Conduct: Outdoor Smoking Restrictions (2026)

1, adopted by Ordinance No. 2006-44, prohibits smoking at the John Patrick Sports Complex, a Township-owned recreational facility covered by Chapter 8, Parks, Playgrounds and Recreational Areas. The ordinance defines smoking broadly as 'the burning of, inhaling from, exhaling the smoke from, or the possession of a lighted cigar, cigarette, pipe or any other matter or substance which contains tobacco or any other matter than can be smoked,' so lit vapor or herbal products fall under the same ban as tobacco cigarettes.
