North Port bans drinking alcohol and carrying open containers on any street, sidewalk, park, beach or other public property within city limits.
(a)It shall be unlawful for any person to consume alcoholic beverages upon any street, sidewalk or any other public place or public property within the corporate limits of this municipality.(b)It shall be unlawful for any person to have, hold, carry or possess any alcoholic beverages in open containers on or upon the street, sidewalk, park, beach or other public place or property within the corporate limits of this municipality.(c)It shall be unlawful for any person to consume or to possess in open containers any alcoholic beverages on or upon any private premises within the corporate limits of the city not holding an appropriate license from the state department of business regulation, division of alcoholic beverages and tobacco without the consent of the owner or occupant of such private premises, except in a licensed sidewalk cafe.
