Evansville, IN Public Conduct: Skateboarding Rules (2026)

Evansville Municipal Code § 10.50.010 lists nine specific public premises where skating and skateboarding are flatly prohibited: the Central Library, City-owned parking garages, the Civic Center, Dress Plaza, the Ford Center, the Four Freedoms Monument, Freedom Plaza, the Main Street walkway, and Old National Events Plaza. The same section separately bars riding a skateboard, in-line skates, or roller skates on any private property without the owner's consent. The Board of Public Works may grant a one-off exemption for a supervised festival exhibition with adequate insurance. Violators face a $25 fine per violation, with each act treated as a separate offense; if the violator is a minor who cannot pay, the parent or guardian is liable.
