Full Breakdown

City Code § 8-0113 prohibits riding a skateboard, coaster, scooter, toy vehicle, or roller/in-line skates on any roadway, city-owned parking ramp or lot, skyway, or any sidewalk within the central business district. Elsewhere in Fargo, sidewalks and parking ramps are off-limits only where the city has posted signs banning the devices. Riders may still cross a roadway on a crosswalk, where they're treated as pedestrians for right-of-way purposes.

Violations & Fines

Chapter 8 traffic offenses, including § 8-0113, are charged as a misdemeanor or infraction under § 8-0110; an infraction carries a fine up to $1,000 under § 1-0301(B), with each day a separate offense.
