19 splits the ban into two parts. 010(a) makes it unlawful to ride or propel a skateboard on any public parking facility, or any private parking facility open to the public, once that facility is posted with a sign stating skateboarding is prohibited; the section specifically extends the ban to sidewalks adjacent to or within such a lot. 010(b) is broader and does not depend on signage: it is unlawful to willfully ride, propel, or operate a skateboard on any sidewalk or on private property open to public access in a manner that endangers the property, safety, or well-being of any person.

020 authorizes the Director of Public Works to erect signs on Town property, and lets business owners post their own signs at entryways using the code's suggested wording, "NO SKATEBOARDING. VIOLATORS MAY BE CITED. " That subsection also clarifies the ordinance only reaches private property or business premises when they are posted at all clearly defined entryways; unposted private lots not generally open to the public are not covered. The ordinance dates to Ord. 94-11, adopted August 18, 1994, and has not been repealed.
