Washoe County, NV Public Conduct: Skateboarding Rules (2026)

200, part of the parks and recreation chapter adopted by Ord. No. 1687 in 2022, sets two rules for skateboards in county parks. First, no one may operate or ride a skateboard, bicycle, electric bicycle as defined in NRS chapter 484B, scooter or other operator-propelled device in a county park once the parks director has determined conditions are unsafe or otherwise inappropriate and has issued an order prohibiting the activity in that area. Second, everyone using those devices, skateboards included, must keep speed and manner of operation reasonable and prudent relative to the terrain, prevailing conditions, the equipment itself, the rider's own ability, personal safety and the safety of everyone else in the park.

210, separately bars riding a bicycle, including an e-bike, on a designated off-street bicycle trail in a manner that's unsafe or injurious and caps speed at any posted trail limit, though that section does not name skateboards specifically. 190 confines motorized vehicles to designated roads and parking areas. None of these sections create a separate skateboard permit; the restriction is behavioral and park-wide, triggered either by a director's unsafe-conditions order for a specific area or by a rider's own failure to operate in a reasonable and prudent manner.
