Rockdale County, GA Short-Term Rentals: Host Presence Rule (2026)

Sec. 9 of the short-term rental standards requires every license application to include the name, address, telephone number, and email address of the short-term rental agent, who must be at least 25 years old and able to be present onsite within one hour of contact. 4, which requires each licensee to designate a short-term rental agent with access and authority to manage the unit, and requires that agent to respond to the location of the short-term rental within one hour after notification of the existence of a violation of this chapter or any other provision of this Code or any disturbance requiring immediate remedy or abatement.

4. The one-hour response duty runs around the clock, not just during business hours, and applies whether the call comes from the Sheriff's Office, a deputy, the fire marshal, or a code enforcement officer, giving the county a direct line to someone who can act on a complaint at the property without waiting for the owner to travel from out of town.
