Boone County, KY Short-Term Rentals: Short-Term Rental Parking Rules (2026)

Boone County Code § 114.05(E) sets the parking standard for short-term rentals in the unincorporated county: a minimum of one parking space must be provided per guestroom or suite, and all parking for the short-term rental must be off-street, on a paved surface, and consistent with all applicable zoning regulations. This ties into the permit application itself, since § 114.03(B)(7) already requires a site plan or survey showing the maximum number of vehicles that can be legally parked on the property without encroaching on the street, sidewalks, alleys or other public rights-of-way. Section 114.05(F) then requires every advertisement and rental contract for the property to state the allowed maximum number of vehicles, alongside the maximum occupant count, so guests know the limit before they arrive. These parking rules apply only to short-term rentals located in the unincorporated areas of Boone County and do not extend into Florence, Union or Walton, each of which enforces its own municipal code.
