Full Breakdown
South Jordan City Code § 5.64.010, part of the residential rental housing chapter, names short term rental alongside hotels, motels, rooming houses, auto courts, and trailer camps as lodging types that must keep a guest register. The operator must record each guest's name, residence, and vehicle make and state registration number, and must note the room, cabin, trailer, or camping space assigned. This is a recordkeeping duty tied to running a short-term rental in the city, not a separate license, and failing to maintain the register is a class B misdemeanor, the same as other rental-housing violations in this Salt Lake County, Utah city.
Violations & Fines
Operating a covered lodging without keeping the required guest register, or failing to record a guest's name, residence, or vehicle information, is a class B misdemeanor under § 5.64.010.
